Entrustt Inactivity Check Software for Banks, Fintechs, Registrars and Pension Administrators in Nigeria

An inactivity check finds the customers, shareholders and contributors who have gone quiet, and reaches them before a dormancy date or a transfer. Here is how it works in each part of the Nigerian market.

Entrustt is inactivity check software for Nigerian institutions. You send the signals you already hold, it starts a quiet-period clock for each person, and you receive a signed webhook when someone goes quiet.

Signals to use, by sector

These are suggestions. Use the signals you already record.

  • Banks: transactions, card use, app logins and replies to messages.
  • Fintechs: wallet activity, logins, repayments and notification opens.
  • NGX registrars: e-dividend mandate status, returned payments and bounced messages.
  • Pension administrators: contributions, recapture status and updates to next of kin.

How long to wait

Start well before the regulator’s date. TheCable’s summary of the CBN guidelines puts dormancy at typically one year for current accounts and two years for savings accounts, so a check-in at six or twelve months leaves room to reach the customer. For dividends, reports say six years unclaimed triggers a move to the Unclaimed Funds Trust Fund, so registrars have a long window to act earlier. Set the clock per product.

What a check-in looks like

  1. Send the customer a short message asking them to confirm their details.
  2. If there is no reply, try a second channel.
  3. If there is still no reply, a staff member reviews and may reach the contact they named.
  4. The clock stops the moment the customer acts.
  5. Every attempt is logged.

Common questions

What is inactivity check software?

Software that watches for people who have stopped using a product or responding, runs a check-in and escalates if there is still no answer.

Which signals should we use?

The ones you already record, such as transactions, logins, wallet activity, dividend mandate status and contributions. Choose the signals that fit each product.

Is it only for banks?

No. Fintechs, NGX registrars and pension administrators have the same problem with customers, shareholders and contributors they cannot reach.
